If the gas engine is the heart of the generator set, then the MMC, located on a separate panel next to the generator set, performs all the important functions necessary for continuous monitoring and control of the entire system.

The main advantages of gas generators

Operational flexibility.

The significant reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions makes the natural gas generator ideal for independent power producers and combined heat and power generation (cogeneration). With the ability to operate at part load of up to 35% and the quick start option, the operational flexibility of the gas generator is also ideal for balancing power systems. The low level of emissions – 250 mg/Nm³, 500 mg/Nm³, (@5% O2)NOx – is achieved without an external additional catalyst.

Best-in-class specific engine power.

The natural gas generator has an effective engine power of 130 kW/cylinder – the highest specific power in its class thanks to its compact design and small footprint. It provides excellent performance in high temperatures and high humidity for use anywhere in the world and provides 30% more power than its predecessor.

Low costs during the work cycle
All components of a natural gas generator set are tuned for long life and maximum uptime. Long service intervals and easy-to-maintain components mean low maintenance costs. The quick availability of spare parts and low engine oil consumption contribute to lower overall costs, and the life of the cylinder head is potentially equivalent to an overhaul.
Electrical efficiency to 44,4%.

The natural gas generator achieves an electrical efficiency of up to 44.4%, providing a significant improvement in fuel/energy use at high temperatures. The gas-powered 4000 Series gives you more power in less space while reducing fuel and maintenance costs, specially designed for hot and humid conditions.

Ignition system

Ignition systems for individual cylinders provide the most efficient level of operation for all cylinders, even with variable CH4 content. The ignition system provides information about the state of the spark plugs.

Heat recovery unit

The well-proven design is ideal for a generator set and provides the highest thermal efficiency. The device is fully integrated into the automation concept, is safe and certified (CE).

Generator

Perfectly tuned to the engine and manufactured by well-known manufacturers, the generator ensures a high level of reliability and optimal efficiency.

Digital communication

The system is equipped with a data logger that provides access to digital solutions including remote monitoring, fast and reliable service support and – soon – additional features such as predictive failure prevention and operational optimization.

MIP & MMC automation systems

Engine Interface Panel (MIP) with MTU Standalone Management Module (MMC). The MMC provides all the functions you need to manage your system. All the auxiliary drives required for the CHP system can be controlled from here.

Power supply unit and detonation detection

Cylinder knock detection and control protects the engine from abnormal operating conditions and ensures safe operation even with low-methane natural gas. There is no need for an additional replacement of the cylinder heads prior to overhaul.
